Bain & Company works in partnership with leading social innovators on lasting, transformative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Over the last two years, we have supported the introduction of full-time secondary education in Brazil, designed a first-of-its-kind agribusiness accelerator platform in Ethiopia and helped the largest global environmental nonprofit launch a market-oriented approach to reforestation.
In 2015, we made a commitment to invest $1 billion in pro bono consulting over 10 years to help our clients, many of them nonprofit organizations, tackle their toughest strategic challenges and achieve their full potential. The size and time horizon of this investment enable us to develop enduring relationships and meaningfully support our clients on the long, hard journey to social change: Approximately two-thirds of our pro bono work has been with clients we have worked with for three or more years. And none of this could happen without the passion and dedication of our people: 70% of Bain’s 8,000 global employees participate in some form of social impact work, from full-time cases to “Extra 10%” projects, externships and volunteering.
